Adam Crossman W/Jesse Maranger, Luke Michielsen

  • Boiling Over Coffee Vault 148 Kent Street West Lindsay, ON, K9V 2Y4 Canada (map)

Adam simultaneously creates a variety of tones and textures from a mere six-string acoustic guitar. Adam uses a range of altered tunings, two-handed tapping techniques, harmonics, capos, and percussive hits to emulate the sound of a full band in his compositions. He evokes emotion and translate ideas through music using his keen sense of melody and rhythm.

Jesse Maranger is a singer/songwriter creating his music in Waterloo, Ontario. His empathetic stylings are inspired by the way we interact with each other and with the earth we stand on. His music does not shy away from the pains of life and it certainly does not ignore its joys. Jesse's strong, emotive melodies will reverberate with something inside of you - something that realizes the beauty of raw, honest expression and the mystery of a room full of very different people singing in harmony.

Luke Michielsen’s music is bright indie folk. With a writing style similar to Neil Young and vocals reminiscent of R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, he shows a rare aptitude for melody and provocative lyrics.

After the success of his 2014 full-length Oh Surround Me, which was named “Pick of the Week” by CBC Radio, Luke has toured Canada extensively. He recently released a single called Berlin, ON, which ponders the history of the renaming of his home city Kitchener, in 1916.

Oh Surround Me, was funded by the Ontario Arts Council. Produced with longtime collaborator Mike Langford and nearly 18 session musicians, the song arrangements and overall soundscape doesn’t fall short. The songs Every Time I Come Home, January Snow and Well Maintained have been featured on several CBC Radio One programs.
